We have 2 desk spaces available in the Livable Walkable Center. They're sublets in Feet First's space (www.feetfirst.info). Asking rent is $350/mo gross/desk. Contact Joe at 206-718-0038.
We also have an amazing found-item art display hanging in the alley. It's a must-see. A photo is the last one if you click on "photo gallery" on the left. The first word of the piece is "waste." Those are discarded plastic water bottles.
The Livable Walkable Center is an office hub of different groups and individuals who have urban sustainability, walkability and livability in common. It includes two very nice conference rooms, a kitchenette, a couchy area, shared office equipment and a collegial, collaboarative atmospher. The photos also show the warm, clean feel of the design and the space.
People in the center include the International Sustainability Institute, Livable Walkable LLC, Feet First, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, the Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability (NBIS) and Blink Online PR.
The Nord also includes an exciting retail space that soon will be home to a Seattle-based gramine bank's cutting-edge "retail project" where microborrowers who make products will be selling those products. More to come on that soon.
And an art gallery has formed plans to open in the Nord's alley-side retail space. More on that soon too. This would nicely advance the transition of the alley into a more-pedestrian-space.
Livable Walkable's alley parties have become a dazzling success. Some photos are on Photo Gallery. More to come. The Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble played at the December one, at which a city-wide "green alley design competition" was launched. The results of that competition, including a star-studded judging panel's comments, will be the centerpiece of the March alley party, on the evening of the first Thursday of March (held in conjuction with Pioneer Square's popular First Thursday Art Walk).
